Redia Anderson

Redia Anderson is most recently the retired Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer for BP America. In this role Redia led the strategic development and implementation of the organization’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy as a sustainable business practice. Redia led a team focused on enterprise-wide change efforts for the advancement, retention and development of top performing talent inclusive of women and people of color within an inclusive work culture.

Nationally recognized as a leader in the field of Diversity & Inclusion, Redia is a senior executive with more than 25 years of experience in Human Resources and Inclusion management. Prior to joining BP she was Chief Diversity Officer for Deloitte & Touché LLP, Equiva Services (JV between Shell, Texaco, and Saudi Aramco), Sears, Roebuck & Co., and Abbott Laboratories. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of Anderson People Strategies, LLC an Executive Coaching and Human Resources management consulting firm.

Redia received her undergraduate degree in psychology and her graduate degree in clinical psychology from Trinity University, in San Antonio, Texas. She is the author of Trailblazers: How Top Business Leaders Are Accelerating Results through Inclusion and Diversity and founder of AuthenticAllies®. She has served on numerous boards focused on health, children’s, and women’s issues.

Michael Gonzales

Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Hallmark Cards

Michael is responsible for Hallmark’s Corporate Diversity & Inclusion’s strategies and direction, Diversity & Inclusion’s, (D&I’s) internal and external collaborations, partnerships, support and compliance.

He is responsible for the execution of the Corporate Diversity & Inclusion’s efforts regarding, workforce, workplace, marketplace and community priorities.  Michael sustains the relevance of the company’s Diversity & Inclusion business case while overseeing the company’s six Employee Resource Groups, (ERG’s).

He’s skilled in the areas of building critical relations, innovation and resourcing, business collaboration, employee relations, diverse and cultural understandings, compliance metrics and program management.

History and portfolio involvement include; board positions that reflect progress against an aggressive and iterative scorecards.  Michael saw a need for D&I collaborative thought and best practice and so co-founded the KC D&I Consortium, which grew from three members to over 100 in three years. He’s partnered in creating a Hispanic college student mentoring program. Michael was responsible for the creation of Hallmark’s Center for Diversity & Inclusion. He also was the project lead for Hallmark’s first summit on Diversity & Inclusion. He is a frequent resource to fellow Diversity & Inclusion and Human Resource professionals from the business, non-profits and higher education communities on topics of Diversity & Inclusion and ERG’s.

Outside of Hallmark, Michael has presented to company’s and groups such as; Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, YMCA, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Missouri Bank, University of Missouri at Kansas City, National Hispanic Corporate Council, Kansas State University, Human Rights Campaign, the Nashville Diversity and Inclusion Cooperative, Talent Management Alliance, PRISM D&I Conference, Tulsa Chamber of Commerce Diversity Breakfast.

When Hallmark was challenged to provide a more localized, relevant shopping experience to a store in the Castro neighborhood of San Francisco, the executive leading the project reached out to the diversity & inclusion office. The results of that effort have exceeded expectations, and the learnings from this work have become a model for how collaboration between the business and diversity and inclusion is imperative.
